Job summary

Locale Civil in Shepparton is seeking experienced Plant Operators to join a fast-growing civil utilities team on permanent projects delivering essential infrastructure across underground networks.

You will operate plant equipment on excavation, trenching, and site prep, ensuring compliance with VESI regulations, daily pre-starts, diaries, JSEAs and safety reporting. A strong safety focus and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Current VESI/VEDN accreditation.
• Possess relevant WorkSafe competencies or accreditation certificates relevant to plant/machinery.
• Demonstrated experience in plant operation on underground utility networks.
• Possession of a current Driver’s Licence.
• Possession of a current Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence.
• Construction Induction (White Card).

Responsibilities

• Excavate and operate plant on underground power networks.
• Trench, backfill and prepare site with accuracy.
• Work in accordance with VESI regulations and safety procedures.
• Complete daily pre-starts, diaries, JSEAs and safety reporting.
• Collaborate with ground crews, supervisors, and project managers.

Your everyday:

• Safe and precise excavation on underground power networks
• Conduct trenching, backfilling, and site preparation with accuracy
• Work in accordance with VESI regulations and company safety procedures
• Complete daily pre-starts, daily diaries, JSEAs and safety reporting
• Work collaboratively with ground crews, supervisors, and project managers.

Must Have:
