Job summary

Locale is recruiting VESI-accredited Civil Labourers to contribute to underground network projects in Shepparton. You will perform trenching, bedding and reinstatement in line with VEDN standards, reviewing SWMS and safety requirements before work starts.

Join Locale’s civil team and help maintain high safety and quality on-site, supporting crew leads with setup and documentation while navigating live electrical environments with proper PPE and exclusion zones.

Qualifications

• VESI accreditation required for field placements.
• Experience in civil construction and underground works.
• Strong knowledge of VEDN standards and asset protection.
• Ability to read and interpret job packs and SWMS.
• Valid driver's licence required for site access.

Responsibilities

• Assist with trenching, cable hauling, bedding, and reinstatement per VEDN standards.

• Complete excavation permits and follow Locale's HSEQ framework with pre-start checks and risk assessments.

The role:

Join Locale's skilled civil team delivering underground network projects across Shepparton. We are seeking VESI accredited Civil Labourers to make their impact on our projects delivering high-quality work completed to VEDN standards.

Your everyday:

• Assist with trenching, cable hauling, bedding, and reinstatement activities in compliance with VEDN standards
• Review job packs and understand scope of works, SWMS, and safety requirements before commencing tasks
• Complete excavation permits and follow Locale's HSEQ framework, including pre-start checks and risk assessments
• Maintain safe working practices around live electrical assets, including correct PPE use and adherence to exclusion zones
• Support Crew Leads with site setup, housekeeping, and compliance documentation

Must Have:

• Full VESI accreditation
• Experience in civil construction and underground works
• Strong knowledge of VEDN technical standards and asset protection
• Ability to interpret job packs and SWMS accurately
• Valid driver's licence
