Job summary

Alkane Resources Ltd. operates at the Costerfield site in Central Victoria, providing a residential 7/7 roster for an Electrical Maintenance role within the processing facility.

The Fixed Plant Electrician will maintain electrical systems, motors, MCCs, VSDs, and control systems to ensure continuous production. The role requires a Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence, Electrical Trade Qualification, and experience in industrial electrical maintenance, ideally in mining or processing plants.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification required.
• Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence.
• Industrial electrical maintenance experience in mining/manufacturing/processing plants.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with motors, MCCs, VSDs and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and use testing equipment.
• Experience with CMMS maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and repairs on plant electrical equipment.
• Inspect, test and fault find motors, drives, switchboards and control systems.
• Respond to breakdowns and safely return equipment to service.
• Assist with instrumentation, PLC and SCADA maintenance.
• Support shutdowns, plant upgrades and commissioning activities.
• Complete maintenance records and CMMS work orders accurately.
• Work with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve plant reliability.

Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.

Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of approximately 300 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

Please note: Costerfield Operations is a residential mine and does not facilitate FIFO

Requirements

The Role

Reporting to the Electrical Foreman the Fixed Plant Electrician you will be responsible for electrical maintenance activities across the processing facility, ensuring equipment is maintained safely and efficiently to support continuous production.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Carry out planned maintenance and repairs on plant electrical equipment.
• Inspect, test and fault find motors, drives, switchboards and control systems.
• Respond to breakdowns and safely return equipment to service.
• Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems.
• Support shutdowns, plant upgrades and commissioning activities.
• Complete maintenance records and CMMS work orders accurately
• Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve plant reliability and reduce downtime.
• Follow all site safety procedures, policies and permit requirements.
• Contribute to a positive safety culture through safe behaviours and teamwork.

The Person

We are seeking an individual who possesses:

Electrical Trade Qualification.

Current Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence.

Experience in industrial electrical maintenance, ideally in mining, manufacturing or processing plants.

Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

Experience working with motors, MCCs, VSDs and electrical control systems.

Ability to read electrical drawings and use testing equipment.

Experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Ability to work a 7 days on / 7 days off roster.

Instrumentation qualification or experience.

Experience with instrument maintenance and calibration.

Exposure to PLC and SCADA systems.

Experience with plant shutdowns and commissioning activities.
