Job summary

Alkane Resources Ltd's Costerfield Operations seeks an Auto-Electrician to perform breakdown, repair and scheduled maintenance on heavy mining equipment. Work will be on surface and underground, with a residential role ensuring you are home each night.

You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and install mine-spec systems while maintaining safety documentation. Possess Australian Auto Electrical Trade Qualification, manual licence, and ideally an air conditioning licence.

Qualifications

• Australian Auto Electrical Trade Qualification is required.
• Current Manual Driver's Licence is required.
• Air Conditioning Licence is preferred.
• Experience on heavy mining equipment is essential.

Job description

Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.

Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of approximately 300 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

Please note: Costerfield Operations is a residential mine and does not facilitate FIFO.

The Role

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor the Auto-Electrician will work in breakdown, repair and scheduled maintenance on heavy/mining equipment. Also carrying out electrical fit outs on new equipment and LVs. You will be required to work on surface as well as underground.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Auto electrical diagnostics
• Breakdown repairs
• Preventative maintenance
• Electrical fault finding
• Air conditioning repairs and servicing
• Mine-spec installations
• Commissioning and upgrades
• Completion of maintenance reports and safety documentation
• Working safely within mine site procedures

The Person

We are seeking an individual who possesses:

• Australian Auto Electrical Trade Qualification
• Current Manual Driver's Licence
• Air Conditioning Licence (preferred)
• Experience on heavy mining equipment
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
