Job summary

NuGrow, Queensland’s leader in recycling and soil rejuvenation, seeks an experienced Plant and Machinery Operator to join the Gracemere team. You will operate multiple machines, adhere to safety and regulatory standards, and support quality management across production.

Work Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, with loader and excavator duties. You’ll perform pre-start checks, assist with maintenance reports, and handle light administration while contributing to a strong team ethic and timely, reliable

Qualifications

• Waste industry experience is preferred.
• Competency with excavators and front end loaders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Operate all plant equipment, machinery and vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily pre-start, safety and maintenance checks; report faults.
• Handle organic/inorganic waste in soil and compost production.
• Provide office and general administration support.
• Ensure compliance with quality management requirements.

Due to growth in our business, we are now seeking an experienced multi-ticket Plant and Machinery Operator to join the team at our Gracemere facility.

Reporting to the Rockhampton Operations Manager, the Plant and Machinery Operator's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Operate all plant equipment, machinery and vehicles in a careful, safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation and company policies and procedures.

Handling of organic and inorganic waste during the production of the soil and compost in accordance with set policies, procedures, regulations and legislation.

Perform daily pre-start, safety and maintenance checks and advise manager of any faults, service and/or maintenance requirements.

Office and general administration support.

Ensure all activities integrate with organisational requirements for quality management.

Clean plant equipment and machinery as scheduled and/or required.

Ensure plant equipment and machinery are safely and securely stored.

Perform miscellaneous position related duties and labour as required.

This is a permanent full-time position Monday – Friday from 7am to 5pm. The Plant and Machinery Operator will be required to operate various pieces of equipment including a loader and excavator.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Waste industry experience (advantageous).

Excavator, front end loader competency.

Good communication skills both written and verbal.

Ability to follow procedures and job instructions with safety being a priority.

Ability to use a computer and basic Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.

Have a great attitude and strong work ethic.

Diligence when it comes to completing pre-start checks, machinery maintenance reports, reporting of all near misses, potential hazards etc.
