Job summary

Glencore's McArthur River Mine in the Northern Territory is seeking a Planning Support Officer for the Metallurgy Maintenance team. Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, the Planning Support Officer provides work scoping and planning support for maintenance activities across the processing plant.

You will assist with planning, ordering and confirming required parts, and support work-order creation and approvals.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining processing plants, crushing facilities, or similar environments.
• Experience in a similar role is advantageous.
• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Mechanical Fitter.
• Willingness to obtain Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with work scoping and planning of maintenance across the processing plant.
• Support Supervisors with detailed scoping of work requests.
• Assist with ordering and confirming required parts.
• Support planners with creation and approval of work orders.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to boost productivity and reduce costs.
• Participate in training and development aligned with Glencore’s values.
• Comply with environmental guidelines to support sustainable operations.
• Demonstrate strong safety awareness and promote a safety-first culture.

Located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, 900 km southeast of Darwin and just 64 km from Borroloola, MRM produces and processes Zinc, Lead and Silver from our open cut mining operations. About The Role

Grow your career in the mining industry and become a key member of our Metallurgy Maintenance team. Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, the Planning Support Officer provides work scoping and planning support for maintenance activities across the processing plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the work scoping and planning of maintenance activities across the processing plant
• Support Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors with detailed scoping of work requests
• Assist with ordering and confirming required parts for maintenance tasks
• Support planners with the creation and approval of work orders
• Proactively identify and report opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance productivity and reduce costs
• Participate in training and development aligned with Glencore’s core values
• Comply with all environmental guidelines and procedures to support sustainable operations
• Demonstrate strong safety awareness and actively promote a safety-first culture

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience maintaining processing plants, crushing facilities or similar environments
• Experience in a similar role is highly advantageous
• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Mechanical Fitter
• Current Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets are desirable but not essential
• A proactive problem-solver with a strong attention to detail
• A collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude
• A genuine commitment to contributing to McArthur River Mine and the broader Glencore team
