Job summary

DR. GOODES in Sydney CBD is seeking a passionate Pizza Chef to join the kitchen team. You will bring hands-on pizza making, dough handling and fermentation expertise to deliver high-quality pizzas in a fast-paced setting.

You will work closely with the Head Chef, maintain high hygiene standards, and contribute ideas for new pizzas and seasonal specials to keep the menu exciting and fresh.

Qualifications

• Experience as Pizza Chef or in a similar pizza-focused kitchen role.
• Strong pizza-making skills including dough handling and oven management.
• Knowledge of dough fermentation and proofing techniques.
• Experience working in a busy kitchen and maintaining quality under pressure.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Excellent teamwork and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stretch and shape pizza dough, maintaining consistency in size, texture and quality.
• Manage dough preparation, proofing and fermentation according to established recipes and procedures.
• Prepare and cook pizzas to a consistently high standard during busy service.
• Maintain excellent standards of food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Complete daily preparation and ensure the pizza station is organized and service-ready.
• Monitor stock levels, minimize food waste and assist with ordering when required.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and pizza station.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service and consistent execution.
• Contribute ideas for new pizzas, toppings and seasonal menu specials.
