La Coppola Wood-Fire Pizza in Redfern, Sydney, is seeking an experienced pizza chef to lead our wood-fired kitchen in a small, family-run setting. You will craft dough, operate the wood-fired oven, and mentor junior cooks to keep meals consistent and delicious.

Responsibilities include developing new pizza flavours each cycle, ensuring high food safety and hygiene, and helping with team coordination from 5pm opening.

Responsabilidades

• Ensures cooking stations are sanitized and prepped with necessary tools.
• Prepares and stores pizza dough; prepares sauces, meats, cheeses, vegetables.
• Cooks pizzas in the wood-fired oven; trains others to ensure consistency.
• Checks quality of pizzas before serving to guests.
• Responsible for health and food hygiene practices.

Job Description

La Coppola Wood-Fire Pizza is currently rated one of the top pizza places in Sydney area and we are looking for someone who has a real passion for food. If you are creative and looking for future management opportunties this could be a great fit. We are a small family-run restaurant, with a fun bunch of people who just love great food and our Redfern locals.

Our customers are mainly regulars who have also become part of the family. We are located in the heart of Redfern and a 3 minute walk from Redfern train station. Your experience will include:

Experience with managing and cooking in a wood-fire oven Experience stretching and making dough Experience making pizza

Experience in developing new pizza flavours Experience managing kitchen staff Strong problem solving abilities

Strong communication skills Your duties will include: Ensures cooking stations are sanitized and prepped with necessary tools

Prepares and stores pizza dough Prepares pizza sauces, meats, cheeses, fruit and vegetables for pizza Ensures the restaurant including the woodfired oven is ready for service at 5pm when opening

Cooks pizzas in the woodfired oven Trains other cooks in the preparation process so all meals are uniform Checks quality of pizzas before they're served to guests

Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality Being responsible for health and safety Being responsible for food hygiene practices

Ideally, you will have experience working with a woodfired oven and extensive experience making pizzas. You will be creative and excited to come up with new pizzas ideas for our specials menu which changes every 3-4 weeks. We are looking for someone with great people skills who is happy to get their hands dirty and help the team when necessary.

Hours: 3/4pm - 10/11:30pm each day Salary: $79,423 + super Sponsorship opportunities are available for the right person.
