Job summary

Rukhiba Pty Ltd, trading as Java Joes & JJ's Pizza, is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Dysart kitchen. You will prepare, season and cook pizzas and cafe-style meals according to established recipes and standards.

Based at Shop 18, Garden Plaza Shopping Centre, Dysart QLD 4745, this full-time role requires 1–2 years of relevant experience and a commercial cookery qualification. Australian residency is required; salary is $75,000–$85,000 plus super.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Commercial Cookery (Cert III or Cert IV) or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of relevant cookery experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience cooking pizzas and cafe-style meals.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe storage.
• Ability to operate pizza ovens and other commercial cooking equipment.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Australian residency required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and preparation standards.
• Examine ingredients and food products to ensure freshness, quality and suitability before cooking.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, mixing, marinating and portioning food as required for daily service.
• Operate and regulate temperatures of pizza ovens, grills, stovetops and other equipment to ensure correct cooking.
• Season food during preparation and cooking to maintain flavour and quality.
• Monitor cooking times to ensure dishes are properly cooked within service periods.
• Portion, assemble and present cooked dishes according to standards.
• Monitor ingredient quantities and assist with estimating food preparation needs.
• Store ingredients and prepared food in temperature-controlled facilities following storage procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of preparation areas and equipment.
• Work with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure efficient service while complying with safety requirements.
