Job summary

UGL Pty Limited is seeking a field inspector to ensure pit and pipe infrastructure for NBN Co complies with standards, safety and regulatory requirements across Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Toowoomba.

The role suits someone with strong telecommunications inspection experience, who works autonomously in the field while supported by a project team. You’ll collaborate with contractors and field staff to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecommunications, civil construction, utilities or related infra industries.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and NBN standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans and scopes of work.
• High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• Current Driver's Licence and experience using digital inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect NBN pit and pipe infrastructure to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Identify defects, non-conformances and safety risks, coordinating corrective actions where required.
• Complete inspection reports, photos, approvals and remediation updates using digital systems including Apian.
• Work closely with contractors, Field Supervisors and project teams to resolve quality and compliance issues.
• Support quality assurance activities to ensure safe, compliant and on-time project delivery.

This role is critical to ensuring that pit and pipe infrastructure is installed in accordance with NBN Co.standards, while meeting safety, quality and regulatory requirements. You’ll work closely with construction crews, contractors, Field Supervisors, and project teams to ensure works are delivered on time and to specification across Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Toowoomba.

This position suits someone with strong inspection experience in telecommunications infrastructure who enjoys working autonomously in the field, while remaining supported by a collaborative project team.
