Job summary

ABBA Engineering is establishing a new Pinjarra workshop and seeks an experienced Pipe Fitter / Welder, Welder/Fabricator or Boilermaker for a permanent, full-time role. You will be hands-on across fabrication of pipework, assemblies and equipment for mining, dewatering and industrial projects.

You will help set up processes and standards as the operation grows, with a modern workshop and opportunities for training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified welders/fabricators with post-trade experience preferred.
• Experience fabricating stainless steel and carbon steel pipework is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong TIG and MIG/GMAW welding skills required, plus 6G weld ability if needed.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate stainless steel and carbon steel pipework from drawings.
• Perform TIG, GMAW/MIG welding and robotic welding.
• Execute 6G pipe welding where required and ensure accuracy of pipe spools and manifolds.
• Read drawings, measure, cut, fit and align pipework precisely.
• Inspect, test and finish welds to required standards.
• Operate workshop equipment safely and work with team to deliver on schedule.

ABBA Engineering is looking for an experienced Pipe Fitter / Welder, Welder/Fabricator or Boilermaker to join our new Pinjarra workshop on a permanent, full-time basis.

You'll be hands-on across the full fabrication process, working on pipework, assemblies and equipment for our mining, dewatering and industrial projects.

You'll also have the opportunity to help establish the processes and standards of our new workshop as the operation grows.

The Role

You'll be involved from drawings through to completed assemblies, including:

• Fabricating stainless steel and carbon steel pipework
• TIG, GMAW/MIG and robotic welding
• 6G pipe welding where required
• Measuring, cutting, fitting and accurately aligning pipework
• Fabricating pipe spools, manifolds and pump assemblies
• Reading engineering drawings and specifications
• Grinding, polishing and weld finishing
• Inspecting and rectifying completed work
• Safely operating workshop equipment and forklifts
• Working with the wider team to deliver safe, quality work on schedule

What You'll Need

• Trade qualification in Welding, Fabrication, Pipe Fitting or related trade
• Minimum 2 years' relevant post-trade experience
• Strong stainless steel and carbon steel pipe fabrication experience
• Strong TIG and MIG/GMAW welding skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering/fabrication drawings
• Strong measuring, fitting and alignment skills
• Ability to complete a 6G weld test where required
• Current C Class driver's licence
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
• Mining, dewatering or industrial fabrication experience
• Robotic welding experience
• Pump or similar assembly experience
• Additional relevant tickets.
