Job summary

ABBA Engineering is seeking a Dewatering Supervisor and Technicians for FIFO roles in Western Australia. You will lead a dewatering team across mining sites, coordinating pumps, pipelines and related infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient project delivery.

The positions require hands-on experience in dewatering operations, pump maintenance and HDPE welding, with a strong focus on safety and site procedures. FIFO rosters and travel to Goldfields/WA sites are integral to the role.

• Ability to work safely in mining environments.
• Willingness to FIFO roster and travel in WA.

Responsibilities

About the Roles

As a Dewatering Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate the dewatering team to ensure projects and site activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your duties will include:

• Supervising and coordinating Dewatering Technicians and site personnel
• Planning and coordinating daily dewatering activities and work priorities
• Overseeing the installation, operation and maintenance of pumps, pipelines and dewatering infrastructure
• Monitoring dewatering systems and ensuring they operate effectively
• Coordinating HDPE pipeline fabrication, poly welding and installation activities
• Supervising excavation, trenching, backfilling and pipeline installation works
• Coordinating the operation of mobile plant and site equipment
• Conducting inspections and ensuring preventative maintenance and breakdown activities are completed
• Reading drawings, work packs and project documentation
• Monitoring job progress and providing updates to management
• Ensuring work is completed in accordance with company procedures, client requirements and site standards
• Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring all team members follow site safety requirements
• Identifying hazards, managing risks and reporting incidents or issues as required
• Supporting the training, development and performance of team members
• Working collaboratively with clients, site personnel and other contractors

As a Dewatering Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the installation, operation and maintenance of dewatering systems across mining sites.

Your duties will include:

• Installing and maintaining pumps, pipelines and dewatering infrastructure
• Operating and monitoring dewatering systems
• Assisting with HDPE pipeline fabrication and poly welding
• Excavation, trenching, backfilling and pipeline installation
• Operating mobile plant, including excavators, skid steers, loaders and telehandlers
• Performing preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Reading drawings and assisting with project installations
• Identifying and reporting equipment faults and site hazards
• Working safely and effectively within mining environments
• Supporting the team to meet project and operational requirements

About You

We're looking for practical, safety-focused and reliable professionals with experience in one or more of the following:

• Dewatering operations
• Pump maintenance or mechanical fitting
• Mining maintenance
• HDPE/poly welding
• Civil construction or earthworks
• Mining project or site services

For the Dewatering Supervisor position, experience leading a team in a mining, dewatering, mechanical or civil environment will be highly regarded. Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills are essential.

• Current Australian Driver's Licence (MR or HR preferred)

• Telehandler, Excavator and Skid Steer tickets
• High Risk Work Licence
