Job summary

Serco seeks a Physiotherapist to join the Darwin Health Centre, a Defence partner facility at RAAF Base Darwin. The role focuses on evidence-based musculoskeletal care and rehabilitation for Defence members in a primary healthcare setting.

The position offers a part-time arrangement (8 hours per week) with a multidisciplinary team, competitive conditions, and opportunities to contribute to high-quality patient care in a unique defence environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ post-graduate musculoskeletal experience within the last 5 years.
• Current unconditional registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA.
• Recent CPD activities aligned with AHPRA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based physiotherapy assessments, treatments and rehabilitation.
• Work with a range of musculoskeletal injuries focusing on functional rehabilitation and return to work/exercise goals.
• Coordinate patient administration, records and clinic operations.
• Support multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Defence policies and confidentiality standards.

About The Darwin Health Centre

Located at RAAF Base Darwin, 6.5km NE of the city sharing a runway with Darwin International Airport. Major exercises are held in the NT every year, with RAAF Base Darwin undertaking a major support role. The health centre has a routine dependency of approximately 520 members and surges up to an additional 1500 Australian and International Defence members twice a year for the Air Force exercises. The facility provides primary aviation medical, nursing, mental health, physiotherapy and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 0730-1600 Monday – Thursday depending on role requirements, half day 7:30 – 13:30 Friday.

What You’ll Do

• Provide a range of evidence-based physiotherapy assessments, treatments and rehabilitative services
• Work with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries with a focus on functional rehabilitation and returning members to their work and exercise goals.
• Coordinate patient administration, records, and clinic operations
• Support multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient service delivery
• Ensure compliance with Defence policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards

What You Bring

• At least 2 years’ part-time or full-time equivalent post-graduate musculoskeletal experience within the last 5 years
• A current, unconditional registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
• Recent engagement in Continuing Professional Development activities aligned with AHPRA guidelines
• A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID009)
• Membership with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (preferred)
• Australian Citizenship required for Baseline Security Clearance
