Job summary

Serco in Townsville offers a civilian Physiotherapist role at Lavarack Health Centre to deliver evidence-based care to Defence personnel. You will assess, treat and rehabilitate a variety of musculoskeletal conditions within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ musculoskeletal post-graduate experience within the last 5 years.
• Current and unconditional registration as Physiotherapist with AHPRA.
• Recent CPD activities aligned with AHPRA guidelines.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate HLTAID009.
• Australian Physiotherapy Association membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based physiotherapy assessments, treatments and rehabilitative services.
• Work with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries with a focus on functional rehabilitation and return‑to‑work goals.
• Coordinate patient administration, records, and clinic operations.
• Support multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Defence policies, procedures and confidentiality standards.

About The Lavarack Health Centre

Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia. It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment. The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members. It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0730-1600 Monday – Friday

• Work with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries with a focus on functional rehabilitation and returning members to their work and exercise goals.
• Coordinate patient administration, records, and clinic operations
• Support multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient service delivery

What You Bring

• At least 2 years’ part-time or full-time equivalent post-graduate musculoskeletal experience within the last 5 years
• A current, unconditional registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
• Recent engagement in Continuing Professional Development activities aligned with AHPRA guidelines
• A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID009)
• Membership with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (preferred)
• Australian Citizenship required for Baseline Security Clearance
