Job summary

Petraveller is seeking a confident Pet Concierge to join our Ground Operations team in Sydney. The role is casual, approximately 18 hours per week across Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You will meet clients, safely handle pets, and coordinate with veterinary, government, pet hotel and airline partners.

Responsibilities include preparing pets for departure, handling travel documents, and lodging pets at the airport. A hands-on, fast-paced role with training on start day.

Qualifications

• Professional animal-handling experience is essential.
• Current unrestricted driver licence with clean driving history.
• Ability to work autonomously while following schedules and procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

LOCATION

ABOUT THE ROLE

Petraveller has an exciting opportunity for a confident and capable animal handler to join our Ground Operations team as a casual Pet Concierge.

The role is expected to provide approximately 18 hours of work each week across Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. An immediate start is available, with comprehensive training provided.

As a Pet Concierge, you will play an important role in the first stage of each pet’s international travel journey. You will meet clients at their homes, safely transport their pets and coordinate appointments with our veterinary, government, pet hotel and airline partners.

You will also prepare pets for departure, manage important travel documents and permits, and lodge pets at the airport for their flights.

This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role requiring excellent animal‑handling skills, careful organisation and a calm, caring approach.

ABOUT YOU

You will be well suited to this role if you:

• Are confident and experienced in handling dogs and cats of different breeds, sizes and temperaments

• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients

• Have strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail

• Can work autonomously while following schedules and company procedures

• Remain calm and adaptable when airline schedules or client requirements change

• Are physically fit and comfortable performing a hands‑on role

• Have a positive attitude and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team

• Are familiar with the Sydney metropolitan area

• Hold a current unrestricted driver licence with a clean driving history

• Professional animal-handling experience is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safely handling pets in accordance with Petraveller procedures

• Collecting pets from customers’ homes throughout metropolitan Sydney

• Transporting pets to veterinary consultations and government appointments

• Checking pets in and out of our pet hotel

• Preparing pets and travel crates for international air travel

• Lodging pets with airlines at Sydney Airport

• Transporting offloaded pets safely to our pet hotel when required

• Preparing and checking travel documentation and departure permits

• Communicating with clients by telephone and face to face

• Completing general warehouse, vehicle and office maintenance duties
