Job summary

Spinal Life Australia is seeking a Personal Support Worker to provide one-on-one in-home care to clients with acquired spinal cord injuries in Nundah and surrounds.

The role offers set shifts, ongoing training, and opportunities for growth with salary packaging to boost take-home pay. Weekend and night penalties apply to compensate for shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Excellent listeners with authentic communication.
• Fixed fortnightly roster with morning, afternoon, evenings and overnights.
• Hold a current driver’s licence and have a reliable vehicle.
• Willing to obtain NDIS Workers Screening and Blue Cards.
• Experienced in the field or hold relevant qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs (including hoist use).
• Deliver personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management.
• Provide basic wound care and assist with self‑medication.
• Offer domestic support such as meal preparation, household tasks and laundry.

About the Role

As a Personal Support Worker, you will provide one‑on‑one support to clients with acquired spinal cord injuries within their homes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs (including hoist use)
• Delivering personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management
• Providing basic wound care and assisting with self‑medication
• Offering domestic support such as meal preparation, household tasks and laundry

About You

We are looking for people who:

• Are excellent listeners and communicate authentically
• Can work a fixed fortnightly roster (morning, afternoons, evenings and overnights available)
• Hold a current driver's licence and have a reliable vehicle
• Hold, or willing to obtain, NDIS Workers Screening and Blue Cards
• Are experienced in the field, and/or hold relevant qualifications.
