Job summary

Spinal Life Australia is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist clients with daily living tasks in their homes across the Innisfail region. The role offers morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts to support clients with mobility, personal care, domestic tasks, and community access.

You will work closely with our team, requiring excellent listening skills, independence, and a current driver’s license with a reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

• Excellent listener with authentic, honest communication.
• Able to work independently.
• Available for fixed fortnightly roster.
• Current driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• Smartphone device required.
• Ability to obtain Blue and NDIS screening card.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with transfers in/out of bed and wheelchairs using hoists when required.
• Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene.
• Personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management.
• Basic wound care and self-medication.
• Domestic support such as meal preparation, light household duties and laundry.
• Community access such as driving to appointments and social activities

About The Role

As a personal support worker, you will directly be supporting our clients who have acquired spinal cord injuries daily tasks in our clients' homes. There are morning, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts available.
