Job summary

Spinal Life Australia is seeking a Personal Support Worker to assist clients with spinal cord injuries in their homes. You will support daily living activities, mobility, personal care and community access.

Join a team with comprehensive onboarding, ongoing training, penalty rates for weekends and public holidays, and fixed rosters to support work-life balance. A current driver's licence and a willingness to obtain NDIS Screening and Blue Card are required.

Qualifications

• Onboarding and ongoing training provided for Personal Support Workers.
• Experience in home care and spinal cord injury support is valued.
• Ability to work a fixed fortnightly roster including mornings, afternoons, evenings and overnights.

Responsibilities

• Transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs using hoists as required.
• Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene.
• Personal care including toileting, bladder and bowel management.
• Basic wound care and self-medication.
• Domestic support including meal preparation, household duties and laundry.
• Community access including driving to appointments and social activities.

About the Role

As a Personal Support Worker, you'll directly assist clients with acquired spinal cord injuries in their homes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs, using hoists as required
• Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene
• Personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management
• Basic wound care and self medication
• Domestic support (meal preparation, household duties and laundry)
• Community access (driving to appointments and social activities)

About You

We are looking for people who:

• Are excellent listeners and communicate authentically
• Can work a fixed fortnightly roster (morning, afternoons, evenings and overnights available)
• Hold a current driver's licence and have a reliable vehicle
• Hold, or willing to obtain, NDIS Workers Screening and Blue Cards
• Are experienced in the field, and/or hold relevant qualifications.
