UnitingCare Queensland is offering a Personal Carer Trainee program in the Townsville area. Earn as you learn while completing a Certificate III in Individual Support with fully funded training through government funding and support.

You’ll begin with hands-on care, road travel, and daily living assistance for clients in their homes. Gain practical experience, work part-time in a maximum fixed-term role, and join a trusted community care provider focused on empowering clients and their families

Qualifications

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Green Provisional minimum) – Essential.
• Roadworthy & insured vehicle to use for work – Essential.
• Experience with technology incl. smartphones, tablets, laptops etc.
• Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to clients in the community to support independence and quality of life.
• Travel between visits, perform in-home personal care and daily living tasks.
• Follow each client’s Care Plan and assist with transportation and appointments.
• Support participation in community activities and general household duties.

Employment Status: Maximum Fixed Term - Part Time

Location: Townsville South & Surrounding Areas

Remuneration: $32.69 p/hr + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay) + Allowances & Travel Reimbursement (KM’s) + Employee discounts

About The Role

As a Personal Carer Trainee, you’ll provide care to your clients living in the community, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life.

• Spending your time on the road completing scheduled visits, interacting one-on-one with clients within their homes supporting with daily activities
• In home personal care, daily living assistance including showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry and ironing
• Providing care in accordance with their individualised Care Plan
• Supporting with community based recreational and social activities
• Transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments.
