Job summary

UnitingCare Children, Young People and Families – Townsville QLD is offering a Personal Carer Traineeship with no experience required. Earn while you learn and gain a Certificate III in Individual Support.

You will travel to clients’ homes in Townsville South and surrounding areas, providing daily living assistance, and be supported with training and government funding to complete the certificate at no cost.

Qualifications

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Green Provisional minimum) – Essential.
• Roadworthy & insured vehicle to use for work – Essential.
• Experience with technology incl. smartphones, tablets, laptops etc.
• Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies.

Responsibilities

• Visit clients in their homes, providing care and daily living support.
• In home personal care: showering, personal hygiene, meal prep, house cleaning, laundry.
• Provide care according to each client’s Care Plan.
• Support clients with community-based recreational and social activities.
• Assist with transportation to appointments and shopping.

About the role:

As aPersonal Carer Trainee,you’ll provide care to your clients living in the community, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life.

• Spending your time on the road completing scheduled visits, interacting one-on-one with clients within their homes supporting with daily activities
• In home personal care, daily living assistance including showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry and ironing
• Providing care in accordance with their individualised Care Plan
• Supporting with community based recreational and social activities
• Transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments.
