Job summary

Dovida Australia is seeking caring home-care assistants to support daily living, meal prep and household tasks for clients in the Laurieton area. You will travel between clients, provide companionship and assistance, and help maintain wellbeing for those you serve.

Ideal candidates are compassionate, reliable and communicative, with a valid Australian driver’s licence and access to a phone and a laptop/tablet for coordination and documentation. Training and support are provided.

Responsibilities

With kindness and understanding, you will:

• Support daily living by helping with personal care, meal preparation and household tasks.
• Offer reliable transport and friendly company for trips like doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping and social outings.
• Build strong relationships with your clients by listening, learning their life stories, and bringing variety and brightness to their week.
• Share updates and observations about client wellbeing with Care Managers to keep support meaningful and relevant.

What you’ll bring

You are compassionate, patient and easy to talk to, with a real love for connecting with people from all backgrounds. You’re dependable and an open communicator, and you treat your clients the way you’d want your own family to be treated.

To thrive in this role, you will:

• Live in or near Bellingen, Forster, Harrington, Kempsey, Laurieton, Nambucca Heads and Wingham and be happy to travel between clients in your local area.
• Hold a current Australian driver’s licence, with access to a reliable car and comprehensive insurance.
• Be available to work at least one weekday (Monday to Friday). We’re looking for up to 10 hours per week, which may increase or decrease with client demand.
• Have a reliable smartphone and laptop/tablet.
• Hold valid Australian working rights and be willing to complete a National Police Check.

It’s not essential, but it would be wonderful if you also have:

• A Certificate in Individual Support (Ageing) or a related qualification.
• Lived experience caring for a family member or friend.
• A current First Aid and CPR certificate.
