Job summary

Comlink Australia is seeking Personal Care Assistants to deliver in-home care with a values-led culture in Queensland. You will provide personal care, mobility assistance, light housekeeping, and social support, helping clients maintain independence and dignity.

The role requires Certificate III in relevant field and ideally 12 months Home Care experience, with readiness to work across diverse client groups and use a private vehicle with kilometre reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III qualification (Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services)
• Preferably 12 months experience in Home Care, CHSP funded care services
• Willingness to perform general housekeeping duties
• Genuine empathy with elderly clients and community service passion
• Understanding of diverse groups (Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+, Homelessness)

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and assistance with hygiene, toileting, bathing, grooming and other ADL activities
• Assisting clients with mobility and transfers and other activities to help maintain independence
• Assisting clients with general housekeeping duties (cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting) as per care plans
• Providing social support activities including driving clients to appointments and locations
• Recognising changes in a client's condition and documenting and communicating this information
• Ensuring clients are treated with dignity, respect and supported to exercise choice and independence

About the role

We are seeking Personal Care Assistants who are committed to ensuring the highest possible standard of in-home care for our valued clients.

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will be:

Providing personal care and assistance with hygiene, toileting, bathing, grooming and other ADL activities

Assisting clients with mobility and transfers, along with other activities to help maintain an independent lifestyle

Assisting clients with general housekeeping duties i.e. cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting as prescribed in the clients’ care plans

Providing social support activities which may include driving clients to appointments and assorted locations

Recognising and responding to change in a client's condition, as well as documenting and communicating this information as required

Ensuring clients are treated with dignity and respect and supported to exercise choice and independence

Other things you might like to know:

You will be required to use your private vehicle for work purposes, with kilometre-reimbursement offered

About you:

These positions are best suited to someone who has:

Minimum Certificate III qualification i.e. Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services

Preferably 12 months experience working in the Home Care sector, particularly with Home Care Packages and CHSP funded care services

Willingness to embrace general housekeeping duties as part of your role

Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry

Understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness.
