Comlink Australia is seeking Personal Care Assistants to deliver in-home care with a supportive, inclusive and values-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or Community Services.
• Preferably 12 months experience in Home Care, including CHSP funded care.
• Willingness to perform general housekeeping duties as part of the role.
• Genuine empathy for elderly clients and a passion for community service.
• Experience with diverse groups (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+).

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including hygiene, toileting, bathing and grooming.
• Assist with mobility and transfers to promote independence.
• Carry out housekeeping per care plans (cleaning, vacuuming, dusting).
• Offer social support and transport clients to appointments.
• Notice changes in condition and document/communicate them to the team.
• Respect dignity, promote choice and independence.

About the role

We are seeking Personal Care Assistants who are committed to ensuring the highest possible standard of in-home care for our valued clients.

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will be:

• Providing personal care and assistance with hygiene, toileting, bathing, grooming and other ADL activities
• Assisting clients with mobility and transfers, along with other activities to help maintain an independent lifestyle
• Assisting clients with general housekeeping duties i.e. cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting as prescribed in the clients’ care plans
• Providing social support activities which may include driving clients to appointments and assorted locations
• Recognising and responding to change in a client's condition, as well as documenting and communicating this information as required
• Ensuring clients are treated with dignity and respect and supported to exercise choice and independence

Other things you might like to know:

• You will be required to use your private vehicle for work purposes, with kilometre-reimbursement offered

About you:

These positions are best suited to someone who has:

• Minimum Certificate III qualification i.e. Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services
• Preferably 12 months experience working in the Home Care sector, particularly with Home Care Packages and CHSP funded care services
• Willingness to embrace general housekeeping duties as part of your role
• Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry
• Understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness.
