Comlink Australia is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to deliver in-home care across Ipswich, Redbank Plains, Logan and Brisbane surrounds. You’ll provide personal care, mobility assistance and social support to help clients maintain independence.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or Community Services.
• Preferably 12 months experience in Home Care, especially with Home Care Packages and CHSP funded care.
• Willingness to perform domestic/housekeeping duties as part of the role.
• Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion for community service.
• Understanding of service delivery within diverse groups (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness).

About the role

We are seeking applications from individuals who are committed to ensuring the highest possible standard of in-home care for our valued clients.This position will primarily service Ipswich, Redbank Plains, Logan and Brisbane Surrounds.

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will be:

Providing personal care and assistance with hygiene, toileting, bathing, grooming and other ADL activities

Assisting clients with mobility and transfers, along with other activities to help maintain an independent lifestyle (kilometre-reimbursement offered)

Assisting clients with general housekeeping duties i.e. cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting as prescribed in the clients’ care plans

Providing social support activities which may include driving clients to appointments and assorted locations

Recognising and responding to change in a client's condition, as well as documenting and communicating this information as required

Ensuring clients are treated with dignity and respect and supported to exercise choice and independence

This position is best suited to someone who has:

Minimum Certificate III qualification i.e. Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services

Preferably 12 months experience working in the Home Care sector, particularly with Home Care Packages and CHSP funded care services

Willingness to embrace domestic / housekeeping duties as part of your role. It is preferable for you to have experience in professional cleaning duties, but not mandatory

Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry

Understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness.
