Job summary

Aruma is seeking passionate Support Workers to empower people with disabilities and young individuals to live the life they choose. You’ll deliver person-centred support, assist with daily living, and foster independence within a rights-based framework.

Rostered on a 24/7 schedule including sleepovers, active nights, weekends and public holidays, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement plans and advocate for customer rights.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability, aged care, or family/community services.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle.
• NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, sleepovers, weekends & public holidays.
• Availability for 24/7 rostered shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, individualised support to people with disabilities and young people.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, and skill development.
• Build meaningful connections and provide mentorship and emotional support.
• Support community participation and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement support plans.
• Advocate for customer rights and promote independence.
• Create safe, trauma-informed environments for young people with complex needs.
