Job summary

Aruma in Queensland is seeking compassionate Support Workers to help people with disabilities and young individuals live the life they choose. You’ll provide daily living assistance, emotional support, and community participation.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability, aged care, or family/community services.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle.
• NDIS Worker Check or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, individualised support to people with disabilities.
• Assist with personal care, mobility and skill development.
• Build meaningful connections and provide mentorship and emotional support.
• Support community participation and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement support plans.
• Advocate for customer rights and promote independence.
• Create safe, trauma-informed environments for young people with complex needs.
