Job summary

Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd is seeking a Performance Manager on a 12-month contract to lead a busy port operation. You will oversee up to 80 frontline staff, balancing operational needs with people outcomes, fostering engagement and accountability in a dynamic, shift-based environment.

You will partner with senior leaders, drive recruitment and talent development, monitor rosters, and guide performance conversations. This role emphasizes safety, service quality and strong team communication.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large frontline teams with accountability and engagement.
• Strong relationship building across levels and approachable leadership.
• Experience in performance management and employee relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a large frontline workforce with accountability and high performance.
• Partner with Airport Manager to identify workforce challenges and opportunities.
• Manage employee performance, coaching and development conversations.
• Lead airport recruitment, workforce planning, onboarding and talent pipelines.
• Monitor rosters and respond to short-notice changes to ensure service delivery.
• Support resolution of employee concerns with empathy and solutions.
• Lead change initiatives with clear communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage disruptions with calm leadership focused on safety and customer outcomes.
• Develop leadership capability across Team Leaders via coaching and succession planning.
• Ensure consistent application of policies and a fair employee experience.
