Job summary

CatholicCare Tasmania is seeking an experienced Team Leader People Services to lead our People Services team on a 12-month maternity leave contract in Hobart. You'll manage recruitment, onboarding, HRIS, compliance and payroll-related processes, delivering practical workforce solutions that improve employee experience.

You will report to the Head of People & Culture and drive continuous improvement across systems, resources and processes while supporting managers and staff with professional

Qualifications

• Experience leading or coordinating a People & Culture or HR shared services team.
• Strong experience with recruitment, onboarding, workforce administration and payroll-related processes.
• Experience administering and improving HRIS and workforce processes.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of employment legislation and confidentiality.
• Ability to analyse data and drive process improvements.
• Ability to translate complex information into practical resources.
• End-user focused design of workforce services and systems.
• Experience contributing to People & Culture projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the People Services team to deliver compliant workforce support.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle administration.
• Improve HRIS and workflow processes for efficiency.
• Provide guidance to managers on recruitment and selection best practice.
• Support compliance, reporting and records management.
• Develop self-service tools and practical resources for staff.
• Contribute to People & Culture initiatives and organizational improvement.
• Use workforce data to identify improvement opportunities and enhance employee experience.
