Job summary

Tasmania Government's Department of Health is seeking a Pay/Personnel Officer to deliver accurate, timely payroll services for a large and diverse workforce across Tasmania.

In a high-volume payroll environment you will liaise with employees, managers, HR and finance to resolve payroll matters and ensure compliance with legislation, industrial instruments and contracts. The role is full-time with hours negotiable and a strong public-sector career path.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume payroll environment within a large/complex organisation.
• Knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and employment conditions.
• Ability to interpret awards, enterprise agreements and employment contracts.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when processing payroll transactions.
• Experience using payroll and HR information systems.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical payroll deadlines.
