Job summary

Ahrens is seeking a People and Culture Coordinator to join the Perth office. The role provides hands-on generalist HR support across recruitment, onboarding, policy guidance, and employee relations within the Mining and Industrial Services Division.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in HR administration, a strong understanding of industrial awards, and excellent communication skills to partner with managers and staff across the site.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR administration and recruitment.
  • Knowledge of National Employment Standards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Familiarity with visa and work rights requirements is advantageous.
  • High attention to detail and ability to prioritise and multi-task.
  • Professional, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Strong confidentiality and integrity in handling information.
  • Proficient with reporting in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback to candidates on application progress and outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Manage end-to-end HR administration from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Coordinate mobilisation to ensure employees are site-ready.
  • Support managers in onboarding and induction processes for new hires.
  • Coordinate 3- and 6-month reviews and escalate performance concerns as needed.
  • Manage immigration, work rights, and sponsorship requirements as applicable.
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies and internal processes.
  • Support training, development, CSR initiatives, and process improvements.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a People and Culture Coordinator to join the growing team at Ahrens in our Perth office.

This role provides hands-on generalist Human Resource supporting Ahrens'Mining and Industrial Services Division. The successful candidate will have a passion for, and experience in, recruitment with an eagerness to grow their skill set and play a key role in the ongoing success of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide feedback to candidates on application progress and outcome in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for end-to-end HR administration from onboarding through to offboarding.
  • Work with mobilisation to ensure people are site-ready.
  • Provide support to managers on the appointment of new employees, ensuring all onboarding and induction processes are completed for a successful commencement.
  • Coordinate employees 3 and 6 months reviews, escalating performance concerns to the Employee Relations Manager prior to the completion of employee probation.
  • Manage and maintain company immigration, employee working right and company sponsorship as required.
  • Provide initial level of guidance to employees and manager for queries related to employee and industrial relations and internal Human Resources Policies.
  • Support the People and Culture team with initiatives related to training and development, corporate social responsibility and process improvements.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience in Human Resource administration and knowledge of recruitment, and or experience in a similar role.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply Industrial Awards and Enterprise Agreements, plus knowledge of National Employment Standards.
  • Familiarity with visa and work rights requirements is advantageous.
  • High level of attention to detail and proven ability to prioritise and multi-task.
  • A proactive, professional with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a broad range of people.
  • High personal integrity with an understanding of and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills, including high level reporting skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to be successful in a dynamic environment.
