Job summary

Kmart Australia Limited is seeking a People & Capability Business Partner to partner with senior leaders across CFO functions including Risk & Compliance, Profit Protection, Commercial & Strategy, Property, Finance and Corporate Affairs & Sustainability.

You will balance strategic people planning with hands-on support, coaching and influencing leaders through organisational change, talent and capability initiatives in a flexible hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience as a People & Capability partner in a complex, fast-paced org.
• Experience managing complex employee relations (performance, investigations, grievances, workplace conflict).
• Experience supporting organisational design, restructures and change, including consultation and comms.
• Experience delivering core people cycles: talent & succession reviews, performance and remuneration reviews, engagement surveys.
• Strong workforce and succession planning capability and talent strategy support.
• Proven ability to coach and influence senior leaders with judicious, insightful guidance.
• Ability to interpret people data and trends to identify risks and insights.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Balance strategic priorities with urgent operational demands while maintaining stakeholder trust.
• Comfort using AI and People & Capability systems to boost productivity and insights.

Responsibilities

• Translate business priorities into practical people plans aligned with the People & Capability strategy.
• Lead workforce and succession planning, organisational design and resource planning.
• Use workforce data to identify risks, trends and opportunities and recommend actions.
• Provide trusted, commercially focused advice on major people decisions.
• Coach leaders to strengthen capability across people leadership and performance management.
• Manage complex employee relations matters in consultation with Employee Relations.
• Plan and implement organisational change including restructures and comms.
• Support leaders to build inclusive, high-performing teams and positive experiences.
• Lead key people cycles across the client group: performance, engagement, remuneration, talent and succession.
• Collaborate with Centres of Excellence and Advisory Centre on integrated people initiatives.
