Job summary

NSW Health's South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Peer Support Worker (Health Education Officer Grad/Non Grad) for the Toward Zero Suicides initiative. The role supports people through distress across Safe Haven and SPOT, offering hope, connection and recovery-oriented care in a community setting.

The position is permanent part-time up to 24 hours per week, with shifts Fri–Mon 11:30am–8:00pm and penalty rates.

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of suicide and/or suicidal thoughts.
• Recognised Degree or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer.
• Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer work or willingness to work towards completing.

Responsibilities

• Support people through distress with hope and connection across Safe Haven and SPOT.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver recovery-oriented peer support.
