Job summary

The Suicide Prevention Outreach team (SPOT) at Far West Local Health District in Broken Hill NSW is seeking Health Education Officer Non Grad to deliver recovery-oriented peer support for people in crisis. Responsibilities

• The Suicide Prevention Outreach team (SPOT) provides afterhours care and follow-up to people experiencing or recovering from suicidal distress.
• The SPOT peer workers provide recovery-oriented peer support for people in crisis, including crisis response, follow-up, psychosocial support, safety planning, recovery/wellness planning, individual peer support, advocacy and community supports.
• The position will support remote and outreach communities of the Far West LHD, primarily via telehealth, and some support to the Broken Hill area.
