Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a dedicated Peer Worker for the Suicide Prevention Outreach Team in the Far West Local Health District. You will provide recovery-oriented peer support, crisis follow-up, safety planning and advocacy, across remote communities primarily via telehealth, with some on-site support in Broken Hill.

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of a suicidal crisis and ability to use lived experience to provide peer support.
• Excellent communication skills in verbal and written form.
• Willingness to complete essential training and work after-hours/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery-oriented peer support for people in crisis.
• Engage in crisis response, follow-up and safety planning.
