Job summary

BDO in Sydney seeks a Manager – PCAOB Audit Quality to drive development and operation of audit quality activities for PCAOB engagements. You will provide practical methodology support, assist with inspection readiness and remediation, and contribute to learning initiatives that promote consistent, high-quality engagement outcomes.

The role requires strong technical judgement, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple quality initiatives in a regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years+ related experience, preferably within external audit or audit quality in a professional services environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of PCAOB auditing standards and audit methodology, with experience in PCAOB engagements.
• CA qualified or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching or mentoring staff.
• Experience working with ASX-listed, SEC registrant or other complex engagements is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PCAOB audit methodology, policies, guidance, templates and practical tools.
• Monitor changes to PCAOB standards and inspection themes; assess implications for engagement teams.
• Prepare technical guidance, communications and implementation materials for PCAOB engagements.
• Assist with technical consultations and documentation related to PCAOB engagements and performance.
• Identify improvements to methodology, guidance and learning based on inspections and monitoring.
