Job summary

JB Hi-Fi is seeking a Payroll Officer to efficiently process payroll weekly or fortnightly for allocated business units, ensuring compliance with awards, contracts, and company policies. You will maintain employee records, resolve payroll queries, and support operational excellence through accurate payroll execution.

You will collaborate with the Payroll Lead, handle payroll data for forecasting and analytics, and contribute to process improvements within a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' payroll processing in a high-volume environment.
• Strong understanding of Modern Awards and payroll legislation.
• Proficient in Excel for data analysis and reporting; accurate data handling.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll weekly or fortnightly for allocated business units, ensuring compliance with Awards and contracts.
• Maintain and update employee records and payroll components accurately.
• Administer deductions, contributions, and benefits, including superannuation.
• Respond to payroll queries with clear, professional communication.
• Collaborate with the Payroll Lead and use Zendesk payroll portal for escalations.
• Prepare payroll data for forecasting, analytics, and reporting.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll processes.
• Support projects and process improvements under Payroll Lead or Group Payroll Manager.
• Ensure deadlines are met and organizational standards are maintained.
