Job summary

LINX Port Services in Newcastle, NSW, is seeking a Payroll Officer for a full-time 6-month contract to manage end-to-end payroll for staff across multiple sites using Dayforce. You will process weekly payrolls, maintain records, and resolve discrepancies in partnership with HR and Finance.

This role requires 5+ years of payroll experience, knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, payroll tax and superannuation, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ payroll administration experience.
• Strong experience using Dayforce Payroll and Workforce Management modules.
• Experience within logistics, ports, stevedoring or industrial environments preferred.
• Sound understanding of Australian Payroll legislation and compliance obligations.
• Knowledge of payroll tax, workers compensation and superannuation administration.
• Advanced attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with end-to-end processing of weekly payrolls.
• Maintain employee payroll records in Dayforce, including lifecycle changes.
• Review and resolve payroll exceptions, discrepancies, timesheet queries and leave transactions.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, payroll tax, superannuation and company policies.
