Job summary

News Corp Australia is seeking a Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll processing on a monthly and weekly basis in a large corporate environment. The role involves interpreting EBAs and awards, handling new starters and terminations, payroll tax, and maintaining payroll records with strong attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Dayforce and Workday, be technically savvy, able to meet deadlines, and contribute to accounting initiatives within a dynamic, hybrid

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll processing for weekly and monthly runs.
• Proven Excel ability for data verification and reporting.
• Experience interpreting EBAs and modern awards for Australia.
• SOX compliance awareness and process improvement involvement.

Responsibilities

• Review and submit weekly and monthly pay runs.
• Maintain and verify payroll records (new hires, terminations, rate changes, deductions).
• Investigate and respond to payroll queries.
• Participate in ad hoc improvement projects related to payroll controls.
