Job summary

Lanson Partners is recruiting a Payroll Services Specialist for a leading financial services client in Sydney. This hands-on role delivers fortnightly payroll for a large employee population and supports data integrity between HRIS and payroll systems.

You will apply Australian payroll legislation, manage end-of-fortnight and year-end processes, and provide guidance on Awards and Enterprise Agreements. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of payroll experience, Dayforce experience, strong Excel

Qualifications

• 5+ years' payroll experience, preferably 1,000+ employees.
• End-to-end payroll lifecycle experience.
• Time & Attendance systems experience.
• Australian payroll legislation knowledge (tax, superannuation, leave).
• Experience interpreting multiple Awards/Enterprise Agreements.
• Dayforce/Ceridian Dayforce experience is highly desirable.
• Excel and general systems capability.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Organisational and deadline management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fortnightly payroll for a large employee population, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Process adjustments, new starters, terminations, leave reconciliations and one-off payments.
• Monitor timesheet data and resolve discrepancies before payroll processing.
• Support data integration between Workforce Management, HRIS and payroll systems.
• Apply payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Provide guidance on Award interpretation to stakeholders.
• Support changes to policies, Awards and agreements within the payroll system.
• Respond to employee and stakeholder enquiries with high-quality resolutions.
• Manage end-of-fortnight, month-end and year-end payroll processes and reporting.
• Investigate payroll issues and implement preventative controls.
• Support payroll risk management and control activities.
