Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health is seeking a Payroll Services Lead to join the Payroll team on a full-time basis. This senior role leads the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant payroll services, reporting to the Manager, Payroll Services.

The successful candidate will drive system enhancements across Kronos, SAP and SuccessFactors, interpret EBAs and legislation, and coach staff while partnering with managers, People & Culture, Finance, regional partners and vendors.

Qualifications

• Extensive payroll experience in large multi-EBA environments.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance and governance.
• Experience interpreting EBAs and awards.
• Proficiency with payroll and HR systems and vendor support.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior payroll expertise and operational leadership to ensure accurate, timely and compliant payroll service delivery.
• Interpret EBAs, legislation, policies and procedures.
• Lead payroll compliance, reconciliation, audit and governance activities to maintain high standards of accuracy and control.
• Drive payroll system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives across systems including Kronos, SAP and SuccessFactors.
• Coach, mentor and support payroll staff while contributing to workforce capability, training and knowledge sharing.
• Build strong relationships with managers, employees, People & Culture, Finance teams, regional partners and external vendors to support effective payroll service delivery.

Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Payroll Services Lead to join our growing on a full time (1.0EFT) ongoing basis.

The Payroll Services - Lead is a senior payroll professional responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant payroll services across Latrobe Regional Health. Reporting to the Manager, Payroll Services, this role provides operational leadership, payroll expertise and specialist support across payroll operations, systems, compliance, projects and workforce capability initiatives.

Working in a complex and dynamic environment, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll excellence through system optimisation, compliance monitoring, process improvement and stakeholder engagement. This position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who is passionate about leadership, continuous improvement and delivering exceptional customer service.

The role of the Payroll Services Lead is to:

• Provide senior payroll expertise and operational leadership to ensure accurate, timely and compliant payroll service delivery.
• Support the interpretation and application of Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), legislation, policies and payroll procedures, providing advice on complex payroll matters.
• Lead payroll compliance, reconciliation, audit and governance activities to maintain high standards of accuracy and control.
• Drive payroll system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives across systems including Kronos, SAP and SuccessFactors.
• Coach, mentor and support payroll staff while contributing to workforce capability, training and knowledge sharing.
• Build strong relationships with managers, employees, People & Culture, Finance teams, regional partners and external vendors to support effective payroll service delivery.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

• Significant payroll experience, ideally within a large and complex multi-EBA environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, payroll controls and governance principles.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, awards, policies and procedures.
• Experience using payroll, HR and workforce management systems, including troubleshooting issues and working with system vendors.
• Proven capability in payroll reconciliation, auditing, reporting and compliance activities.
• Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and support teams in a collaborative environment.
