Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland, Victoria, is seeking a Food Services Supervisor to lead the LRH café and food service operations on a full-time basis. You will work closely with the Food Services Manager to ensure safe, high-quality meals and a positive patient and staff dining experience.

This hands-on role combines team leadership, rostering, stock control, food safety compliance and continuous improvement in a busy healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Handling Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in healthcare food services or related operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and legislation relevant to food service operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, including rostering, reporting or operating systems.
• Good computer literacy and the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
• Proactive, customer-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of LRH café services, ensuring efficient service delivery and a positive customer experience.
• Support managers with rostering, payroll administration, recruitment and onboarding activities for Food Services staff.
• Monitor stock control, ordering, invoicing, banking and operational reporting.
• Maintain and support food service systems, including food safety documentation, compliance processes and operational databases.
• Review operational practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Promote a safe, collaborative and team-focused culture while supporting food service operations and kitchen activities as required.

Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Food Services Supervisor to join our growing on a full time (1.0EFT) ongoing basis.

The Food Services Supervisor plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Food Services team at Latrobe Regional Health. Working closely with the Food Services Manager and Food Distribution Manager, you will provide operational support, coordinate café and food service activities, and contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality food services across the organisation.

This hands‑on role combines team coordination, food safety oversight, administration and continuous improvement activities, making it ideal for an experienced food services professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

The role of the Food Services Supervisor is to:

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

• A Food Safety Handling Certificate or equivalent food safety qualification.
• Experience working in food services, hospitality or a related operational environment, preferably within healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, compliance requirements and legislation relevant to food service operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Well‑developed organisational and administrative skills, including experience with rostering, reporting or operational systems.
• Good computer literacy and the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
• A proactive, customer‑focused approach with the ability to work independently and contribute positively within a team environment.
