Job summary

FS Alliance in Caboolture, QLD, is seeking a full-time payroll and accounts coordinator to support a Registered Training Organisation and Labour Hire operation. You will manage end-to-end payroll, timesheets, deductions and employee changes while handling general ledger reconciliations and monthly journals.

You’ll work with MYOB AccountRight Live, MS Office, and advanced Excel to ensure accuracy across payroll tax, superannuation, and statutory reporting.

Qualifications

• Formal Business Accounting qualification(ies) or partial completion.
• Proficient in MYOB and MS Office with advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with balance sheet verification and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll process and HR matters.
• Process timesheets, allowances, overtime, deductions, leave and changes.
• Process new starters, terminations and changes to employee conditions.
• Manage payroll tax calculations, reporting and payments across states.
• Prepare and submit Payroll Tax Returns.
• General Ledger entries, reconciliations, bank accounts, payments and receivables/payables.
• Prepare end-of-month journals and other journals.
• Use MYOB AccountRight Live.
• Handle queries with external accountant firm.

Job description

This is a full-time position based in Caboolture, located a short walk to Caboolture Train & Bus Station. You will assist the small accounts team, managing end-to-end payroll and accounting functions for a Registered Training Organisation and Labour Hire Company experiencing rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end fortnightly Payroll process and related Human Resources matters
• Process timesheets, allowances, overtime, deductions, leave and employee changes accurately
• Process new starters, terminations and changes to employee conditions
• Manage payroll tax calculations, reporting and payments in different states
• Prepare and submit required Payroll Tax Returns
• General Ledger entries & reconciliations, Bank Accounts, Payments, Receipts, Sales, Debtors, Creditors, End of Period reporting & reconciliations, and sundry matters
• Preparation of end of month journals & other general journals
• Use of MYOB Account right live
• Follow up queries and discrepancies & other action matter items with external accountant firm

About you

• Formal Business Accounting qualification(s), or part completion
• Proficient in MYOB accounting software and MS Office, with intermediate/advance experience in Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and data entry
• Understanding of balance sheet verification, general ledger entries & accounts reconciliation
• Strong reconciliations experience (General ledger, bank, debtors, creditors, payroll related)
• Knowledge of all functions of the payroll process especially QLD but also ideally multi states & involving such things as Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, Superannuation, and a variety of payroll deductions
• Experience with a firm of accountants including tax & auditing roles
• Experience with MYOB account Right Live
• Experience with a Labour Hire Company, or Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
• Ability to manage high volume workload with competing priorities
• Efficient with a strong eye for detail, a positive attitude, ability to work effectively as part of a team, and individually with minimal supervision
