Job summary

Boland Cranes Pty Ltd in Queensland is seeking a Payroll & Accounts Officer to join our in‑house team on a permanent part‑time basis. This hands‑on role focuses on accurate payroll, supplier and customer accounting, and maintaining up‑to‑date records in a busy construction environment.

You will work three days per week (Tue, Wed, Thu) with some flexibility. The role requires strong MYOB skills, familiarity with Modern Awards, WorkCover and STP processes, and careful reconciliation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• High-level proficiency in MYOB
• Experience processing payroll for a construction, trades, labour-intensive or similar business
• Good working knowledge of Modern Awards and employment conditions
• Experience interpreting overtime, allowances, travel, penalties and other payroll entitlements
• Experience with the Building and Construction General On-site Award or similar construction industry awards
• Knowledge of WorkCover / workers compensation administration
• Good knowledge of superannuation, STP, payroll tax and EOFY payroll processes
• Strong reconciliation and numerical skills
• Excellent attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Processing payroll and reconciling individual employee timesheets against site and crane dockets
• Reviewing hours, overtime, allowances, leave and other payroll entitlements
• Maintaining employee payroll records and assisting with STP, superannuation and payroll-related reporting
• Accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, supplier reconciliations and payment preparation
• Accounts receivable, invoicing, debtor reconciliation and follow-up of outstanding accounts
• Bank, credit card and other account reconciliations
• Employee onboarding and offboarding documentation
• Preparing employment packs including contracts, Fair Work information and associated employee documents
• Assisting with WorkCover claims, wage calculations, reimbursements and associated administration
• Maintaining accurate financial and payroll records within MYOB

As the business continues to grow, they are bringing their payroll and accounts function in-house and seeking an experienced Payroll & Accounts Officer to join the team on a permanent part-time basis. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, understands the importance of accurate payroll and financial records, and is comfortable working in a busy construction environment where timesheets, site dockets, allowances and award conditions all matter. The position will be three days per week, preferably Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with some flexibility available for the right person.
