Job summary

Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen is seeking a Payroll Officer on a 12-month contract to manage the pay-run cycle across multiple sites. You’ll validate timecards, run regular and off-cycle payrolls, and ensure STP lodgement with the ATO, while supporting franchisees in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires hands-on payroll system experience, including Workday-related actions, and strong communication to coordinate with crew and leadership across corporate and franchise restaurants.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced, multi-site payroll environment.
• Experience with time and attendance systems and award rules.
• Experience with outsourced payroll models.
• Hands-on experience with payroll systems (iChris is a plus).
• Excellent communication skills and a detail-oriented, deadline-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Review timecards and exceptions daily, validate the pay file and approvals before Monday integration.
• Run fortnightly and off-cycle pay runs, process adjustments, close runs and lodge STP with the ATO on time.
• Process Workday actions for new starters, variations and terminations, and reconcile them to the payroll system.
• Prepare payroll, month-end and superannuation reports for corporate restaurants and franchisees.
• Manage the payroll inbox, responding to enquiries within 24 hours.
• Support operations teams and franchisees with timecard setup and pay queries.
• Manage workers' compensation paperwork and track wage cost recoveries.
• Create and maintain payroll processing documentation.
