Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking a Payroll Officer to support end-to-end payroll processing during a busy transformation phase. You will operate within a high-volume environment and contribute to system and process improvements, leveraging strong Chris21 expertise from day one.

The ideal candidate will have proven payroll experience, the ability to work independently, and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, hybrid Sydney CBD setting.

Qualifications

• Proven end-to-end payroll experience.
• Strong hands-on Chris21 experience (essential).
• Able to start immediately or on short notice.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing.
• Managing weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
• Maintaining employee payroll records within Chris21.
• Processing new starters, terminations and payroll variations.
• Interpreting awards, entitlements and payroll legislation.
• Payroll reconciliations and reporting.
• Responding to employee payroll queries.
• Supporting payroll system and process improvement initiatives.
• Assisting with payroll projects and business transformation activities.

We are partnering with a well-established Australian organisation seeking an experienced payroll professional to join their team during a period of payroll transformation and increased operational activity. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on payroll environment and can quickly become a valued member of the team.

The Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working alongside a supportive payroll team, you will be responsible for assisting with end-to-end payroll processing while helping the team navigate a busy period and ongoing system and process improvements.

The payroll environment is high-volume and requires an individual with the confidence and capability to work effectively within Chris21 from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing
• Managing weekly and monthly payroll cycles
• Maintaining employee payroll records within Chris21
• Processing new starters, terminations and payroll variations
• Interpreting awards, entitlements and payroll legislation
