Job summary

Randstad is partnering with a national infrastructure leader, recruiting a Payroll Officer for their North Ryde head office. You will join a high-performing national payroll team to deliver accurate, timely pay across multiple sites.

You’ll manage end-to-end payroll in weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles, maintain Masterfiles, import time data in Chris21, and apply complex EAs and Modern Awards with strong service orientation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, full-function payroll processing experience.
• Experience with high-volume multi-site payrolls (2000+ employees).
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation, and tax.
• Experience with Enterprise Agreements (EAs) and Modern Awards.
• Excellent data management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles.
• Maintain employee Masterfile records including starters, transfers, terminations.
• Import, audit, and validate time and attendance data into Chris21.
• Apply Enterprise Agreements and Modern Awards to wage calculations.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee and manager payroll inquiries.

Job description

We are partnering with a multi-site national leader known for providing essential infrastructure solutions nationwide, their corporate head office in North Ryde is seeking an experienced, proactive Payroll Officer to join their high-performing national payroll team.

This position is ideal for a confident payroll professional with strong systems knowledge in Chris21 and multiple Enterprise agreement exposure.

You’ll:

• Manage end-to-end processing for high-volume employee populations across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles.


• Maintain accurate employee Masterfile records, processing new starters, organisational transfers, position changes, and complex termination reconciliations.


• Import, audit, and validate time and attendance data from timekeeping systems into Chris21.


• Interpret and apply diverse, multi-site Enterprise Agreements (EAs) and Modern Awards to ensure accurate wage calculations, allowances, and penalty rates.


• Serve as an approachable first point of contact for employee and manager queries, resolving issues promptly with high customer service standards.

What we are looking for

• Proven experience in a hands-on, full-function payroll processing experience in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.


• Proven, essential expertise using Chris21 (or iChris).


• Demonstrated capability handling high-volume payrolls (company sizes 2000+).


• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation, tax, and complex Enterprise Agreements.


• Exceptional attention to detail, strong data management skills, and clear verbal and written communication.
