Job summary

Randstad Australia is partnering with a national leader to appoint a Payroll Officer to join a high-performing national payroll team at their North Ryde head office. The role covers end-to-end payroll for 2000+ employees across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles, using Chris21/iChris and complex EAs.

The successful candidate will manage Masterfile records, import and validate time data, and ensure accurate wage calculations with strong Australian payroll knowledge.

Qualifications

• Hands-on full-function payroll processing in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
• Expertise with Chris21 or iChris.
• Experience handling high-volume payrolls (2000+ employees).
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation, tax, and complex Enterprise Agreements.
• Attention to detail, data management skills, and clear verbal and written communication.
• Resilient, solution-focused with a team orientation.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end processing for high-volume employee populations across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles.
• Maintain accurate employee Masterfile records including starters, transfers, changes, and complex terminations.
• Import, audit, and validate time and attendance data from timekeeping systems into Chris21.
• Interpret and apply diverse multi-site Enterprise Agreements and Modern Awards for wage calculations.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee and manager queries, resolving issues promptly with high customer service standards.

We are partnering with a multi-site national leader known for providing essential infrastructure solutions nationwide, their corporate head office in North Ryde is seeking an experienced, proactive Payroll Officer to join their high-performing national payroll team.

This position is ideal for a confident payroll professional with strong systems knowledge in Chris21 and multiple Enterprise agreement exposure.

You'll:

• Manage end-to-end processing for high-volume employee populations across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles.
• Maintain accurate employee Masterfile records, processing new starters, organisational transfers, position changes, and complex termination reconciliations.
• Import, audit, and validate time and attendance data from timekeeping systems into Chris21.
• Interpret and apply diverse, multi-site Enterprise Agreements (EAs) and Modern Awards to ensure accurate wage calculations, allowances, and penalty rates.
• Serve as an approachable first point of contact for employee and manager queries, resolving issues promptly with high customer service standards.

What we are looking for

• Proven experience in a hands-on, full-function payroll processing experience in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
• Proven, essential expertise using Chris21 (or iChris).
• Demonstrated capability handling high-volume payrolls (company sizes 2000+).
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation, tax, and complex Enterprise Agreements.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong data management skills, and clear verbal and written communication.
