Job summary

Sharp and Carter in North Ryde is seeking a Payroll Officer to join a busy, collaborative team responsible for weekly payroll processing and day-to-day payroll queries. You will report to the Payroll Team Leader, handle end-to-end payroll tasks, ensure accuracy and compliance, and assist with year-end reconciliations as part of a growing team.

This role manages its own weekly payroll within a team-based environment and offers opportunities for long-term growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar payroll role.
• Ability to process high-volume, multi-site payrolls.
• Knowledge of Chris21/Ichris is essential.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Payroll: Process payroll including new starters, bank changes, superannuation, salary adjustments, allowances and deductions, and terminations.
• Payroll Compliance: Follow documented payroll checking procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Termination Payments: Assist with the calculation and processing of termination payments.
• PAYG, Super, and Third-Party Payments: Support administration and processing of PAYG, superannuation, and other third-party payments.
• Masterfile Maintenance: Maintain and update the payroll masterfile for accurate records.
• Audit and Discrepancy Follow-Up: Review audit reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Report Preparation: Assist with preparing regular payroll reports.
• Annual Reconciliation: Support reconciliation of annual payroll data and reports.

About the role:

An exciting opportunity is available for a Payroll Officer to join a busy and collaborative team in North Ryde. Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you will contribute to accurate and timely payroll processing while providing support to your teammates on day-to-day payroll queries. This role involves managing your own weekly payroll in a team based environment where there are opportunities for long term growth due to the size of the team. This role is a 12 month FTC - with a strong chance for permanency!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• End-to-End Payroll: Process payroll, including handling new starters, bank changes, superannuation, salary adjustments, allowances and deductions, and terminations.
• Payroll Compliance: Follow documented payroll checking procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy in all payroll tasks.
• Termination Payments: Assist with the calculation and processing of termination payments.
• PAYG, Super, and Third-Party Payments: Support the administration and processing of PAYG, superannuation, and other third-party payments.
• Masterfile Maintenance: Maintain and update the payroll masterfile to ensure accurate records.

The successful applicantwill have proven experience in a similar role, as well as the following attributes:
