CKI Group is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our growing professional services team in Melbourne. You will own multiple weekly and fortnightly payrolls, supporting internal payroll and outsourced client payroll services, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Working with the Head of Finance, you will maintain payroll integrity in a fast-paced environment, using Excel and MYOB, with exposure to Employment Hero, ELMO and ePayroll. This full-time role offers a hybrid work option after training.

We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team, supporting both internal payroll and outsourced client payroll services.
You will take ownership of multiple weekly and fortnightly payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance and a great experience for employees, casual workers and contractors. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you’ll play a key role in maintaining payroll integrity across a dynamic and fast-moving environment.

End-to-end processing of multiple weekly and fortnightly payrolls (employee, casual workforce and contractors)
Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records
Process timesheets, PAYG and ABN contractor payments
Manage payroll inbox and respond to queries promptly
Interpret awards, agreements and legislation to ensure compliant payroll outcomes
Process superannuation, leave accruals and other entitlements
Manage workers compensation wage calculations and payments
Reconcile payroll data and support reporting requirements
Maintain strict confidentiality and data integrity
Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes and documentation
Provide administrative support across payroll and finance as required
Are a detail-oriented and self-motivated professional with proven experience in delivering end-to-end payroll services. Your advanced proficiency in Excel and MYOB enables you to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment. As a bonus you will also have experience across multiple payroll platforms; Employment Hero and ELMO, ePayroll in particular will be high regarded. You take initiative, work autonomously, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. With excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, you thrive in collaborative settings and are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
4+ years’ experience managing complex or high-volume payrolls
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Solid knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and Fair Work requirements
Experience interpreting awards and agreements
Excellent communication and stakeholder support skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Able to work at pace while maintaining accuracy
A proactive, organised, and adaptable approach, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
A personable and friendly attitude, with a strong work ethic and a can-do mindset.
Experience in a professional services or outsourced payroll environment
Familiarity with Employment Hero (HRIS and Payroll) or ELMO and ePayroll
Exposure to NZ payroll processes
Experience with EBA interpretation
