Job summary

Vinarchy is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join the People & Communications team in Adelaide on an 11-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, East, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate payroll processing across designated regions and business units.

Working closely with People & Communications, Finance and operational leaders, you will support payroll governance, reporting, reconciliations and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • At least three years’ payroll processing experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and employment obligations.
  • Knowledge of modern awards, enterprise agreements and employment conditions.
  • Proficiency with Excel and payroll/time and attendance systems.

Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time across weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Maintain payroll records and process new starters, employee changes, transfers, leave and terminations.
  • Prepare payroll reports and support month-end reconciliations, journals and leave liability reporting.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our People & Communications team in Adelaide on an 11-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, East, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate payroll processing across designated regions and business units. Working closely with People & Communications, Finance and operational leaders, you will support payroll governance, reporting, reconciliations and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Include
  • Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time across weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Maintain payroll records and process new starters, employee changes, transfers, leave and terminations.
  • Calculate salary adjustments, allowances, deductions, overtime, leave payments and back pays.
  • Respond to payroll queries and provide timely support to employees and managers.
  • Ensure payroll activity complies with legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, contracts and company policies.
  • Prepare payroll reports and support month-end reconciliations, journals and leave liability reporting.
  • Support statutory obligations including PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax and workers compensation.
  • Contribute to payroll process improvements, system enhancements, testing and implementation activities.
What You’ll Bring
  • At least three years’ payroll processing experience within a medium to large organisation.
  • Sound understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and employment obligations.
  • Knowledge of modern awards, enterprise agreements and employment conditions.
  • Experience using payroll and time and attendance systems.
  • Understanding of payroll accounting concepts, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and Microsoft Excel skills.
